Thirteen years running, and growing every year, Shaun & Suzi's Annual Mardi Gras Ball is a celebration of New Orleans' music, and of the Boston rock music scene's diversity and abilities. Shaun Wolf Wortis and Suzi Lee lead a large band through a night of the irreverant and quirky rhythm and blues music which exploded out of New Orleans in the 1950's. Special guests -- local rock luminaries -- come up to join them for a few songs each throughout the night.

This year is special as not only is this the 150th Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but obviously is the first after the city's decimation this past fall. Shaun & Suzi's Mardi Gras Ball is a benefit for older musicians of New Orleans (proceeds benefit the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic), this year is double special. Wortis and Lee hope to really pull out all the stops, have a great time, and raise some serious dough.

The Ball is one seriously fun event. Always sells out; always a complete debauched, totally drunken mad scene.
